Putting the region in the picture!
The Stuttgart Region covers only 10% of the area of the state of Baden-Württemberg (3,700 square kilometres) yet is inhabited by 25% of the population (2.5 million people). 17.5% of the region's citizens have a foreign passport. A good 30% of the gross regional product of the whole state is obtained from here. This illustrates that the region belongs to one of the strongest economic regions in Germany. Largest surface stretch: approx. 90km NW direction SE, approx. 80km from SW to NE. The Stuttgart region consists of 179 towns and municipalities. They are organised in 5 counties and the City of Stuttgart. General information on the Stuttgart region can be found under www.region-stuttgart.de and in the multimedial InvestorCompanion.
